The left wing of the house dates from 1767. It was a great room
below with sleeping room above. At the time it was purchased by Mr
Dickerman in 1960, the house had been divided into apartments and
then abandoned. The neighborhood children considered it a haunted
house.
The great room in the 1767 house, with cooking fireplace. Mr
Dickerman stands on the left, Nancy Hughes Gamber on the right. Mr
Dickerman has extensively restored the building.
The house built by Henry S Gamber in 1858, as reported by the
plaque in the end wall between the second story windows. This is now
the Tobias S Frogg restaurant and bar, a most popular establishment.
The young owners offer shell fish as the bar snack on Fridays during
the summer.
